Title
C2 - Letter of Support to the FAA
Description

The Northeast Florida Economic Development Corporation (NEFEDC) in coordination with our Airport Authority has requested a letter of support from the City to accompany their Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) application packet requesting preliminary aeronautical land use determinations and conditional Airport Layout Plan (ALP) consideration for concept areas on the airport.

Concept Area A – Erisha Silicon Valley is a proposed approximately 100-acre integrated aviation and aerospace campus focused on aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), aircraft systems integration, advanced propulsion technologies, aviation and aerospace research and development, aviation-supportive manufacturing, workforce development, and emerging aviation technologies. The concept also contemplates facilities supporting hydrogen-based aviation propulsion research, advanced air mobility, and other next-generation aircraft technologies that have the potential to position Florida as a leader in aerospace innovation.

Concept Area B – Silicon Beach is a proposed approximately 100-acre advanced aerospace, unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), and defense innovation campus envisioned as a collaborative hub for aviation technology companies, defense contractors, research institutions, workforce partners, and military stakeholders. The concept includes UAS research and testing support, aerospace manufacturing, mission systems integration, aircraft and drone hangars, workforce training, applied research, and technology commercialization while leveraging the Airport's strategic relationship with Camp Blanding Joint Training Center to support future defense and aviation innovation opportunities.
