FLUM Amendment and Rezoning of 200 Commercial Circle
Description

This is the second reading of an ordinance to amend the City’s Future Land Use Map (FLUM) designation of 200 Commercial Circle from Commercial to Light Industrial. The FLUM is a component of the City’s Comprehensive Plan and must be amended before the property can be rezoned.

 

The FLUM amendment sets the stage for a second reading of the rezoning ordinance of the same property from commercial to industrial. The zoning map / designation is a component of the City’s Code of Ordinances Chapter 17 “Land Development Regulations.”

The FLUM amendment and rezoning has been proposed by the property owner to make the property and facilities more marketable as the property has sat unused for many years.

 

Recommendation

Recommendation: The Planning and Zoning Board recommended the city council not approve the FLUM amendment nor the rezoning. However, City Staff continues to recommend that the city council approve the proposed amendment by passing a motion to approve the amendment of the future land use map designation and rezoning of 200 Commercial Circle.
