The City Public Information Officer (PIO) Update.

We have learned that our most viewed content (Facebook and Website) is event information. Developed a team effort to get information out to interested groups. Events have been the focus, but we have also used Facebook and website to get information out about city limits, animal control, crash incident at the airport.

Facebook – In the last 5 months the city page has seen

- 900 follower increase , 6,000 up to 6,900. (170% increase from the previous period)

- 1.1 million individual views of content (over 500% increase from the previous period)

- 163,000 individuals viewed our content

- 19,000 content interactions. These are likes, comments, or shares. (over 600% increase from the previous period)

- 17,000 visits (76% increase from the previous period)

- Posts: AUG- 8, SEP-29, OCT-36, NOV-45, DEC- 24

Website- Significant streamlining of the homepage to ease access to most used content and target smartphone access.

- Testing Event pop up that pushes the next main event information to everyone who visits our website

- Pulled calendar out from Government drop down and made it a primary tab on the title bar

- Removed Twitter link (unused)

- Added link to YouTube videos

- Pulled “Rent the Historic Pavillion” forward out of a drop down

- Next step will be publishing a business directory that will give business owners control of the content displayed (city staff will review).

The City PIO has been in her position for a few months now. I (Councilman Lewandowski) would like to know how it's going,  what has been done, what results (if any) have been accomplished, and what (if any) changes should be made.
